What a view!

So, I finally went inside the Burj Khalifa, which is the tallest building in the world. Niki and I went all the way up to the 124th and 125th floor. The view from both floors was amazing. Who knew that I would enjoy it so much. I was really impressed with the photographic history of the project which shown everything from the breaking of the new ground to the completion of the first spire. It was very beautifully documented. If you ever get a chance to come to Dubai, you should definitely visit it. Now, if I could just get into the rest of building, it would be an even better experience.

The Frame

Frame Dubai

To see a gigantic-sized picture frame standing in a park is like unbelievable but that’s what it is and it’s absolutely beautiful. The whole thing gleans gold. The sides are beautifully-decorative. You can take the elevator up to the top and lookout over the city. And at night, it glows different colors. It’s just a beautiful sight.

Touring Dubai

On our second full day (Saturday) in Dubai, we toured Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood and Madinat Jumeirah. Al Fahidi is a historical landmark located on the Dubai Creek near all the embassies. In the buildings were shops and cafe-restaurants that you could peruse and have a bite to eat or drink. Across the creek, you can see beautifully-designed buildings in Deira, where we stayed.

After Al Fahidi, we drove to Madinat Jumeirah, an Arabic Resort, near Burj Al Arab. We perused the souk and took photos overlooking the water. We couldn’t stay long because we were meeting a friend but we will be heading back there before Niki leaves. There’s a  boat ride that you can take on a small Dhow throughout the whole resort. We took photos on it. I’m looking forward to the boat ride because the waterway looks beautiful.
